Add Quizzes to YouTube through Edpuzzle.com

Here’s a nice educational technology tool that everyone can use, it’s called Edpuzzle (edpuzzle.com). It allows you to take a YouTube video (or any online video) and do the following:

  •  Edit the video for length
  •  Insert your own audio clips at various points to draw attention to/emphasize parts of the video
  •  Insert short quizzes at different points of the video

There are two ways to share the video with students:

  1.   1  The sorta complicated way:
a.       You create a class on the edpuzzle website-the kids log in and watch the video/take the quiz and then you will have data that indicates:
                                                               i.      Who took watched the video/took the quizzes
ii.      How long it took them to watch the video/take the quizzes
iii.      Which answers they got correct and incorrectt

  1. 2. The uncomplicated way:
a.       Share a link through email/on your website/or have a sub play it in class (this method does not gather stats however)

Here’s the uncomplicated way and an example of the finished product (check it out, it’s a little over a  minute long):

You could set it up as an enrichment activity, review activity or a nice supplement to  sub plans.
